4th & 5th Graders Build "Letter Heaps"

Collaborative Creations in ART at FAVE

Students looked at Atlanta artist Esteban Patino's visual language, a common thread found in many of his artworks. Check out his website, HERE.

Patino was asked to create an artistic experience for the High Museum of Atlanta's Art Lab (a family friendly space that encourages visitors to explore an artists work hands on.) Students watched a video where museum-goers created "heaps of language" with  Esteban Patino's visual symbols.

After each student completed a large drawing of one of their initials they worked in groups to create "letter heaps" of their own with other students. Many of the results are hanging outside the art room and from the ceiling. Come check it out!
