Our 5th graders are currently working in clay to create food sculptures inspired by the sculptures of Claes Oldenburg and the paintings of Wayne Thiebaud. Students were guided to use pinch pot and coil techniques to create desserts and candy. After these pieces are fired students will paint them using watercolors and will apply a clear glaze.
