Students in first grade are working on thumbnail sketches this week. Students are using bird nature guide illustrations to create several sketches that will be used for a final drawing. For this lesson our super talented first graders focused on a Third Grade Fine Arts Standard!
Standard:
VA3MC.1 Engages in the creative process to generate and visualize ideas.
a.Creates a series of thumbnail sketches to alter visual images, such as
magnifying, reducing, repeating or combining them in unusual ways, to change how they are
perceived and interpreted.
